Robin is currently serving as Minister of the Brechin and Atherley Churches.  Her journey to ministry began in her home congregation of St. Michael & All Angels in Toronto.  She was an active member of the youth ministry and choir.  At the age of 16, her Rector, Arthur Brown asked Robin if she would consider the training programme to become a licensed layreader in the Diocese of Toronto.  This was a wonderful opportunity for a young person to become involved in the life and work of the church.  It was at St. Mike’s that she felt a sense of call to service in the church.

St. Michael and All Angels parish embraced a diverse multicultural community and welcomed new forms of liturgy and music into its worship experience.

During this time, her sense of call deepened.  The Anglican Church was just beginning its discernment process for the ordination of women.  After prayerful consideration, she applied to Emmanuel College and began her studies in Theology.  She transferred her membership to the United Church of Canada, and was ordained in Parry Sound in 1982.

Robin was settled in Sebright-Rama pastoral charge.  It was there that she first lived in the native community and served four rural churches.  The learnings from this ministry continue to weave a special place in her heart and have shaped her understanding of justice and compassion.

Robin has served congregations since that time in North Toronto and Scarborough where she first joined the Bereavement Ontario Network as a Bereavement Counsellor; Georgina Island and in Mississauga where she worked in an outreach based ministry .Robin served in a shared ministry at St John’s in Alliston as the Pastoral Care and Education minister. Prior to coming to Brechin she served at Greenbank Seagrave United churches.

During this time Robin applied for post graduate studies and returned to the Toronto School of Theology for her Master of Theology Degree in Education.

Recently while serving in Brechin and Atherley she attended Montessori Teacher’s College in Toronto and accomplished her Teacher’s Diploma.
